Sobhan Banerjee's Obituary
Sobhan Banerjee, age 55, passed away on Thursday, January 5, 2023, at Fairfax Inova Hospital in Falls Church, VA, while hospitalized after suffering from a heart attack. He was born on May 30th, 1967, in Calcutta, India to Salil Kumar Banerjee and Roma Banerjee, and grew up with his older sister Sharmilla, and his younger brother, Santanu. He was a graduate of St. Xavier’s College, Calcutta, and later became a certified Chartered Accounted (CA) as well. He married Ronika Banerjee on June 30th, 1994. After immigrating to the United States, and receiving an MBA at Temple University, Sobhan began working for Oracle, and later became a contractor/consultant for the FAA. A true scholar, Sobhan spent much of his time reading books and learning about new fields, while also following cricket, watching television, and most importantly, spending time with his family. He is survived and lovingly remembered by his wife, Ronika, two children, Meghna and Saurav, and his beloved dog Rex.
