Sondra had several long conversations with me during her difficult struggle with cancer. I most recall her sharing during the first year of her cancer diagnosis that because of her faith in God and the promise of a life hereafter that she did not fear death. Toward the end she so longed for peace.
Most of my memories of Sondra are of her as a happy child. I moved away from New York when she was only 9 years old and did not have the opportunity to spend much time with her. I was much closer to her Dad and Mom who were proud of her and loved her dearly.
I live in Florida during the winter months and during the years of Sondra’s struggle with cancer have spent a great deal of time with Sondra’s Mom (My Aunt Dottie). This has been a very difficult time for Dottie who reached out to her daughter and prayed for her as only a mother could. My condolences go out to you Aunt Dottie and to Sondra’s sister Elizabeth. I know Sondra would want you to use your faith to believe that she is at peace.
I will honor Sondra’s last wishes to “remember the good…love and the laughter”

I didn't have the pleasure of meeting Sondra. But, my sister, Casey, would talk to my sisters and I about Sondra, sharing stories, memories, challenges she faced, and updating us on how she was doing. I know that it wasn't easy. I know that she prayed that God would take her peacefully. I was so happy to hear that she got her wish. I loved the video that her cousin made. Sondra looked so happy and at peace. For all those who did know her in person, I send my condolences.
