OBITUARY INFORMATION
STANLEY JONES WORTMAN, 89, lifelong resident of Loudoun County died on Sunday, November 18th 2012 in Leesburg, VA. Mr. Wortman was born March 20th 1923 in Leesburg to the late Clinton T. and Sallie Power Wortman. His daughter, Nancy Crosen, brother, Vernon Wortman and sister, Thelma Wortman predeceased him. He was raised on the family farm in Ashburn, VA and helped farm the land before getting into the banking business. Mr. Wortman retired from the House of Representatives as a property supply clerk in the 1980’s. He was a lifelong member of Mt. Hope Baptist Church in Ashburn.
Mr. Wortman is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Lora Munroe Wortman of Leesburg; a son: Charles Wortman (Robin) of Sterling and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm on Wednesday, November 21st 2012 at the Loudoun Funeral Chapel, 158 Catoctin Cr. SE in Leesburg with Rev. John Zoller officiating. Interment will be in Leesburg Union Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Mt. Hope Baptist Church, 42507 Mt. Hope Road, Ashburn, VA 20148.
