Stephen Rugenstein's Obituary
Mr. Stephen Lee Rugenstein, 48, of Ashburn, VA, lost his battle with cancer on Wednesday, November 19, 2008.
Stephen was born on September 10, 1960 in McMinnville, Oregon. He was a son of the late Janet Louise Hughes. Steve was raised in Indianapolis, IN, and moved to Fairfax, VA. He graduated from Oakton High School in 1978.
Steve was a self-employed brick mason. He loved the Miami Dolphins, Jeff Gordon of NASCAR, VA Tech, cooking and racquetball.
He is survived by his significant other: Linda W. Carpenter of Ashburn, VA; his father Edwin Ernest Rugenstein and his wife Maureen Ann of Wilmington, NC; three sisters: Marcia A. Bearekman of Poquoson, VA, Tamara S. Bailey of Centreville, VA, and Amy B. Cuviello of Fairfax, VA; and two nieces, five nephews and his beloved cat Sweet Pea.
A memorial service will be held to celebrate Steve’s life on Monday, November 24, 2008 at 10:00 am at the Capital Community Church, 20430 Ashburn Village Blvd., Ashburn, VA 20147.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the American Cancer Society, 124 Park Street, Vienna, VA 22180.
