Steve H. Atwell's Obituary
Stephen H. Atwell, 62, of Waterford, Virginia passed away Sunday, May 26, 2013 in Lovettsville, Virginia.
He was born In Louisiana, Missouri to the late Charles Howard Atwell and Mary Lou Hammack Atwell.
Steve was a pharmaceutical chemist for over 30 years, and he worked for the United States Pharmacopeia (USP), setting drug standards from 1998-2008. Steve received a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from William Jewel College in 1972, a Master of Science degree from the University of Missouri in 1974 and a Master of Business Administration degree from Frostburg State University ('95). He was an avid member of the Fiat Club of America and enjoyed spending time working on old Fiats.
He is survived by his children Angela Freitag and her husband, Brian, of Ellicott City, MD, Sara Colton and her husband, Jason of Silver Spring, MD, and Jared Atwell and his wife, Jennifer of Frederick, MD; three grandchildren; his ex-wife, Rita Atwell of Frederick, MD; sisters Diane Tasler of Lake State Charles, Missouri and Ronda Oster of Simi Valley, CA; close friend, Ann Belland of Waterford, VA and his two best buddies his dog Bernie and his cat Nigel.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 1, 2013 at the Collier Funeral Home in Louisiana, Missouri.
