We were saddened to hear about Steve. Chris told us about the illness and we kept Steve in our prayers. It was a shock when Chris told us about his passing. We know that Steve will live forever in your hearts and in your memories.

I was fortunate enough to meet Steve several times since my sister Lisa married Rob. I am very sorry I will not get to know him better. He was a very kind and happy person who was fun to be around. He made me feel like I had known him for much longer then a few days here and there. I dare say his whole family has had that effect on me. I am so sorry for your loss.

My last memory of Steve was at Evergreen UMC when I told him how helpful Kim had been to me and how fortunate he was to have her as a wife. Steve said to me, "You're so right. I am truly blessed." Steve was always so full of life and enthusiasm for just about everything. He was terrific in making up nicknames for fantasy football teams. Will never forget mine, "Single Guy," and the infamous one he had for Jim McGrath, fat bastard. He put together a compilation music CD entitled "Single Guy Mix," for me just before my bachelor party which he played a prominent role in making it a memorable event in 2002. Steve played a large part in bringing many of the families on Moore place together and that was one of several things I missed about living in Woodlea when Tonya and I left in '05. I admired him for having what appeared to be a perfect life balance in raising his kids, having family activities and having time for his wife and friends. Steve definitely knew how to have a good time; and his love of outdoors, sports, especially VT and the Redskins, and music was certainly infectious. I often wondered how he was so successful at work in that he was always so playful and liked to joke. I now realize it was because he had those admirable attributes that he succeeded. maybe he didn't take thing so seriously and when things went sour, moved right along. I had not seen Steve in many years but I will miss how he was so terrific at bringing everyone else around him up, making family and friends happy, due to his wonderful outlook on life.

My sincere condolences go to the family and friends of Steve. As one of his nurses, I knew Steve for only a few days and enjoyed talking with him about his life and interests. I could tell he was a special guy and meant a lot to his wife and sons. I am very saddened to hear of his passing and wish comfort to you at this time.
