Susan Lewandowski's Obituary
Mrs. Sharon Lynn (Peacock) Lewandrowski, 38, of Ashburn, VA since 1999 died after a long and courageous battle with breast cancer on Sunday July 22, 2007 in Lansdowne, VA. Sharon was born December 15, 1968 in Tacoma Park, MD to the late Gerald and Dotty (Balderson) Peacock. Mrs. Lewandrowski resided in Montgomery Village, MD and Hyattsville, MD before moving to Virginia in 1999. Sharon was most recently a member of St. David’s Episcopal Church in Ashburn, VA, and prior to moving to Virginia was a long time member of University Christian in Hyattsville where she was a member and participated in numerous capacities including choir and church camp counselor. She was baptized at Shepherd Park Christian Church in Washington D.C.
She was a member of the class of 1986 from Northwestern High School of Hyattsville. She was awarded a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Maryland in 1991 and a Master of Education from Loyola College of Maryland in 1995. She also received a Montessori Diploma in 1993 from the Washington, Montessori Institute. While an undergraduate, she was a member of the Alpha Epsilon Delta Sorority.
She was the Director of Youth Ministry for St. David’s from late 2004 to early 2006. She worked at the Montessori School of Leesburg from 2001-2003. Prior to moving to Virginia, she worked at a Montessori School in Beltsville, MD. During her high school and college years she worked as a waitress at the original Ledo’s restaurant in Adelphi, MD and as a Skate guard at Wells Ice Rink in Greenbelt, MD.
She was a life-long Redskins Fan and participated in the 1982 Super Bowl parade with her school band. She also was a citizen of the “Red Sox Nation.” She was a former member of the Friendship Star Quilters guild in Gaithersburg, MD. She loved music and ice dancing, the Outer Banks and Florida‘s Gold Coast, any children especially below age 5, summertime in Upstate NY, Bunko nights, quilting, and most of all spending time with her numerous friends and family.
She is survived by her beloved husband David and children Tyler, Casey and Courtney all of Ashburn; one brother: Jeff and wife Carla Peacock of, Collinsville, TX; Father-in-law: Clement Lewandrowski of Poland, NY; Brother-in-law: Daniel and wife Tammy Lewandrowski of Frankfort, NY.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30am on Saturday July 28, 2007 at St. David''s Episcopal Church, 43600 Russell Branch Pkwy, Ashburn, VA with Father Kevin A. Phillips officiating and Rev. Marshall Dunn.
Interment will be private.
