TERESITA S. PARK's Obituary
It is with deep sadness and profound gratitude for her life that we announce the passing of Teresita Santiangco Park, a matriarch whose unwavering spirit and bold presence left a permanent mark on all who knew her.
Born on September 28, 1940, in Manila, Philippines to Raymundo & Elisa Santiangco, Teresita was a force of nature from the start. Strong-willed and opinionated, she never shied away from speaking her mind. Her directness was her hallmark – a trait that was rooted in toughness, unafraid to challenge the status quo.
Teresita’s journey was one of courage and determination. In 1971, she moved to the United States with the love of her life, David Park, and daughters. As she embraced a new life while learning to speak the language, she gave birth to her youngest child. Shortly thereafter, she became a proud U.S. citizen, embodying the values of hard work and dedication.
As a military wife, Teresita supported her family with a career working as a manager at the Navy Exchange. Among her most cherished roles was serving as an ombudsman for the USS White Plains, where she became a trusted advocate and source of comfort for the families of service members.
To her family, Teresita was the bedrock of determination and perseverance. She is survived by her three daughters, Jennifer (Enrico), Maria (Robert), Joanna (Thomas), seven grandchildren, Kristina (Chris), Gina (Chuck), Bianca (Ton), Carlo (Vicky), Christian, Elisha, Hezekiah, and her three great grandchildren Cameron, Chloe and Rosalyn.
Though she has departed, her lesson and taste of her unforgettable beef stew with cornbread, will remain with us forever.
A celebration of life will be held on Monday, November 18th at 11am at Loudoun Funeral Chapel. 158 Catoctin Cr. SE 20176
