Terry F. Taylor's Obituary
Chief Master Sergeant Terry F. Taylor, 51 of Leesburg, VA passed away at his home on March 19,2020.
Terry was born October 15, 1968, in Flint, Michigan, the son of the late Shelton Leavitt and the late Cleone Taylor.
Terry was raised in Flint, Michigan and was a graduate of Carman-Ainsworth Community High School, Class of 1986. on December 13, 1988, Terry joined the Air Force on active duty as a Personnel Specialist. After serving almost three years on active duty, Airman First Class Taylor transferred to the Air Force Reserve (non-active) where he retrained to become a Medical Technician. After a short break, Sergeant Taylor returned back to his roots as a Personnelist; however, he found his true calling in May of 1996 when he became a member of the Air Force Reserve Command Recruiting Service (AFRC RS). As and active duty member for AFRC RS, Sergeant Taylor began as a Line Recruiter and served in several recruiting capacities that included, Lead and Officer Accessions Recruiter, Senior Recruiter, Career Programs Manager, Chief of Advertising, and, his final position as Chief Force Requirements Policy at the Pentagon. Sergeant Taylor accelerated through the enlisted ranks and, in 2013 he attained the highest enlisted rank of Chief Master Sergeant. Chief Taylor faithfully served the USAF and the United States of America for over 30 years. He was a consummate Chief who was a born leader and was respected by airman and officers alike.
"Recruiting" was in his blood and he remained a valuable member of the Air Force Reserve Command Recruiting Service family until his death.
He is survived by his wife Sas Taylor of Leesburg, VA; his two adult children, Adam and Andrea, both whom reside in Florida; and his two brothers Mark Bonney of Phoenix, AZ, and Darren Leavitt and sister-in-law Dianna of Mattawan, MI along with their children. In lieu of flowers, you may make a donation in Terry's honor to the Human Society of Loudoun County.
