Thelma Madeline Hall's Obituary
THELMA MADELINE HALL, 92 of Ashburn, Virginia passed away on Sunday, November 14, 2021. Born to the late Clarence and Lillie (Snider) Cockrell, on July 28, 1929 in Herndon, Virginia, Thelma was one of 10 children and would go on to have a large family of her own. She was predeceased by her husband James (Jimmy) Hall, Sr. in 2012, after 65 years of marriage. Thelma was a wonderful homemaker, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a farmer's wife, which meant she was a farmer's partner and for many years, Thelma worked side by side with Jimmy. Known as Granny Hall to many, Thelma had a loving heart and was known for her amazing ability to grow beautiful and abundant flower gardens.
In addition to her parents and husband, Thelma was predeceased by sons John Hall, Sr. and James "Doodle" Hall, Jr., as well as daughter-in-law Nancy (Holland) Hall. Thelma is survived by sons Tommy Hall of Ashburn, Virginia, Rocky Hall and wife Cathy of Harpers Ferry, West Virginia, William "Billy" Hall of Gainesville, Virginia, and Roger Hall and wife Helen of Leesburg, Virginia; 14 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends for a visitation on Wednesday, November 17, 2021 from 6 to 8pm at the Loudoun Funeral Chapel.
Funeral services will begin at 11:00 AM on Thursday, November 18, 2021, at Loudoun Funeral Chapel located at 158 Catoctin Circle, SE Leesburg, Virginia 20175. Interment will follow in Sterling Cemetery, Sterling, VA.
Memorial donations may be made in Thelma's memory to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
