Thelma Wortman's Obituary
THELMA POWER WORTMAN, 89, a resident of the Monroe House in Sterling, VA since 2004, died on Sunday November 26, 2006 in Leesburg, VA.
One brother survives Ms. Wortman: Stanley J. and Lora Wortman of Leesburg, VA; two nephews Charles C. and Robin Wortman of Sterling, Roland and Hazel Wortman of Ferrum, VA and a host of other relatives and friends. A brother, Vernon M. Wortman and a niece, Nancy Crosen, predecease her.
Friends may call at the Loudoun Funeral Chapel 158 Catoctin Cr. SE Leesburg, VA on Tuesday November 28, 2006 from 10-11am, funeral services will begin at 11:00am with Pastor Fred Vann officiating.
Interment will follow in Leesburg Union Cemetery
Ms. Wortman was born in Loudoun County on December 4, 1916 to the late Clinton T. and Sallie Power Wortman. She was a nurse at Garfield Hospital before becoming a nursing instructor at Montgomery College. Ms. Wortman lived in Tacoma Park, Maryland from the 1960’s until 2004. She was a member of the National Memorial Church of God in Washington, DC and enjoyed fishing, painting and woodcarving.
