Thelma Virginia Frye Everhart's Obituary
Thelma Virginia Frye Everhart, 96, of Meadow Glen Assisted Living, Leesburg, VA died on Wednesday, August 19, 2009, at Loudoun Hospital / Cornwall Unit in Leesburg, VA.
Born Monday, March 3, 1913 in Lucketts, VA, she was the daughter of the late Eugene Frye and the late Daisy Shry Frye.
Thelma was a graduate and valedictorian for the class of 1929, Lucketts High School. She graduated from State Teachers College and began teaching in Taylorstown in a one- room schoolhouse. She taught for Loudoun County for 34 years including Leesburg Elementary. She enjoyed reading, traveling, family and friends.
Mrs. Everhart was a life long member of Faith Chapel Presbyterian Church. She served the church in many capacities including Elder, Sunday school teacher and Choir Member.
Mrs. Everhart is survived by her son, Gilbert B. Everhart and his wife Anna Faye of Newnan, GA, her daughter, Doris E. Hardy and her husband Clayton of Leesburg, VA. She is also survived by 2 grandchildren, Louise R. Agee and husband Jack, and David L. Repass. She is also survived by 5 great grandchildren, Nicole, Christine, Lucas, Travis Agee and Randall Repass; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by brothers, Lloyd E. Frye, Jesse W. Frye, and sister, Evelyn F. Tobler.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, August 22, 2009 at 11:00 am at the Loudoun Funeral Chapel, 158 Catoctin Circle, SE, Leesburg, VA with the Rev. Nancy Clark officiating.
Interment followed in Leesburg Union Cemetery, Leesburg, VA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Everhart’s memory to Faith Chapel Presbyterian Church, 14188 Chapel Lane, Leesburg, VA 20176.
