It was an honor and privilege to know Tom Chasteen. A rare breed in a dwindling generation of men who put their lives on the line and walked through Hell on Earth in the Viet Nam war. I heard many of the stories of his experiences as a pilot during that time and am appreciative and in awe of the accomplisments and saddened hearing about the hardships he and many other veterans from that era had to endure. He was Papa Tom to Lilly and Brody and they loved him so very much. I wish him Godspeed, clear skies ahead, and the wind to his back. Gone but not forgotten and loved by his eldest daughter Kayla and all of her siblings. I hope they find strength to endure their loss and joy in their precious memories of him.
