Thomas Paul Mullen's Obituary
Mr. Thomas Paul Mullen, 79 Knoxville, MD, formerly of Neersville, VA passed on Thursday, October 6, 2016, at Golden Living Center in Frederick, Maryland.
Born Thursday, May 13, 1937 in Leesburg, Virginia, he was a son of the late Howard Mullen and the late Gladys Carrie Mullen.
Mr. Mullen was employed by VDOT as an equipment operator, until retiring in 1992.
He leaves his family to cherish his memory including his four children, Patia Gillespie, of Strasburg, VA, Darren Mullen & Lisa Poole of Knoxville, MD, Colleen Mercer and John of Leesburg, VA and Lorna Gardner and husband Bob of Round Hill, VA; his former wife Jean Mullen of Leesburg, VA; 2 sisters, Frances Long of Harrisonburg, VA, Janet Maxwell of Berryville, VA; and 8 grandchildren, Whitney, Monte, Austin, Allie, Bryton, Kasey, Amelia, and Blaine.
In addition to his parents, Thomas was predeceased by 4 siblings, Katherine Ann Legard, Howard “Junior” Mullen, Melinda Runion, and Shirley McKimmey.
Funeral services will begin at 1:00 PM on Sunday, October 9, 2016 at Christian Community Church at St. Paul 12623 Harpers Ferry Road, Purcellville, Virginia 20132, with the Rev. Roland England officiating.
The family will receive guests for visitation, 1 hour prior to the funeral from 12 to 1 pm on Sunday.
Interment will follow in Hillsboro Cemetery, Hillsboro, VA.
Memorial donations may be made to Christian Community Church at St. Paul.
