Tristan Villere Cross
Tristan Villere Cross of Leesburg, VA passed away on September 10, 2012 following a tragic accident. Born on November 21, 2008 in Leesburg, Tristan was a loving, vibrant child who embraced life with love and joy. Whether he was playing with his racecars or snuggling with his stuffed animals or his cat Lucky, Tris loved to play and have fun. He was especially fond of his big brother Andrew, and mastering his swimming lessons, going to the beach and riding in his boat, often at the helm. One of the best gifts that he ever received was his nanny from birth Shannon and Jamar Thornton-Bey. Even though his life was cut short, he was fortunate to visit many exciting destinations.
Tristan is survived by his mother, Dr. Stacey Race Hoffmann of Leesburg, VA; his father, Casey Alan Cross, currently residing in Tel Aviv, Israel; his brother Andrew Collins of Miami, FL; maternal grandparents Rick and Suzanne Race of Southwest FL, and great-grandmothers Martha Race of Vero Beach, FL and Helene Hambrecht of Kansas City, MO. as well as paternal grandparents Villere and Sharon Cross of New Iberia, LA, Tony Mergist of Mandeville, LA,; his aunt and uncle Kristen and Clint Darnell of Milton, GA and Natalie and Bob Mesko of Denver, CO. He was also blessed with loving cousins Chase Darnell, Austin Darnell, Brooke Darnell and Vivienne Mesko, Tristan was predeceased by his paternal grandmother, Barbara Mergist of Lafayette, LA..
Services will be held on Thursday, September 13 at McLean Bible Church on Leesburg Pike in Vienna, VA at 1 pm, followed by the burial at Arnon Cemetery in Great Falls, VA.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations are made to the Tristan’s Wish Foundation, to provide respite services for children in need in the Northern Virginia Area. Donations can be sent to Capital One Bank c/o Mark Weber, Branch Manager 401 E. Market St. Leesburg, VA 20176.
