Vernie Warren's Obituary
VERNIE E. WARREN, 88, of Loudoun County, Virginia, died on Saturday, May 20, 2006 at Rose Hill Nursing Home, Berryville, Virginia.
Mrs. Warren is survived by her son Alton C. and wife Dorothy E. Tavenner Jr. of Philomont, Virginia; two grandsons: Richard A. and wife Stephanie A. Tavenner of Charlottesville, Virginia, Randy A. Tavenner of Philomont, Virginia; Great Grandchildren: Nikole A. Tavenner and Dalton Z. Tavenner both of Charlottesville, Virginia; Sister: Ruby and Husband Guy Dimsey of Leesburg, Virginia; and a host of many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Friends may call at the Loudoun Funeral Chapel, 158 Catoctin Cr. Leesburg, VA on Tuesday May 23, 2006 from 6-8 pm. Graveside services will follow on Wednesday at 11:00am in Leesburg Union Cemetery with Dr. G. Keith Almond officiating.
Mrs. Warren was born June 6, 1917 in Loudoun County to the late James and Carrie Trenary Downs. She retired as a clerical worker with the Library of Congress during the 1970’s and later went to work with Zerox in Lansdown, Virginia for about 10 years. Mrs. Warren enjoyed flying from Leesburg Airport after received her pilot’s license during the 1950’s.
