I am very sorry to hear about your loss. I remember your father fondly and know that he was a dear and life-long friend to my dad.
I’m writing on my dad’s behalf….We hope that you may celebrate your dad surrounded by the love and support of family and friends.

Om Shanti Vinod Jain!!!
The Most Brilliant Relationship Management Person, we have met; specially from the ISI group!
Vinod called, to meet in The Holiday Inn, Mumbai, may be seven years ago; (as Sarit says, Kamlesh was there) so Suchitra came along!
Vinod was leading the Business Delegation, (from The State of Maryland or California); we were specially invited, to The Distinguished Gathering; over 4 hours of Speeches, Cultural Shows, Cocktails & Dinner!
Coincidentally, almost all those invited by the organisers, were professional friends, making me proud, introducing Vinod, with the highest level of Management Teaching & Consulting, globally (including China, for almost 2 years), as an Alumni of the Indian Statistical Institute (ISI)!
Vinod called, when in Kolkata on (I think) 18th December 2023, wanting to visit ISI, with Kamlesh and their daughters (Sunita & Anupama)!
Suchitra and I, were in Kolkata and joined in; we spent over an hour, with Sarit, in ISI (RTS 3rd floor was almost the same, except The Directors office area); Madam Director asked us to wait, but Jains were due to visit Botanical Garden and we joined them, till the evening, having samosas and jalebis!
Finally, we had dinner, in Lalit Hotel (earlier Great Eastern), where they were staying, with Ritabari, over nostalgic discussion, of the "good old days"!
Vinod and Kamlesh, were almost always present, in the B.Stat CCs; He shall be missed forever; He shall be remembered by His articles (extremely balanced, worth reading and quoting)!

I always admired Vinod. I had not seen any other student in BStat. who was so calm, composed and soft spoken, with ever smiling face. I was not at all close to you or Vinod. But I still remember you two coming out together from 205 and proceeding towards 203...!
I have no condolences to offer.
Valo theko. [stay well]
Sustha theko. [stay healthy]

We are shocked to learn about the sad demise of Vinod Jain. During the last 62 years of friendship we were together at ISI Calcutta for five years in the same hostel. VINOD was jovial, made everybody laugh.
We were in touch with each other during our professional life.
I share the grief with KAMLESH and his daughters
