Virginia "Ginny" Fecteau's Obituary
Virginia “Ginny” Fecteau, of Ashburn, Va, passed away on September 15, 2024, at age 85.
She was born to William and Katherine (Otis) Carruthers on November 28, 1939, in Waltham, Ma. After graduating from high school, Ginny studied computer sciences. Ginny married Anthony John Rando, and had her first son, William Edward. Ginny later married Leo Paul Fecteau and had her second son, Leo Paul, Jr. Due to her husband's career, Ginny and family lived in numerous states including Massachusetts, California, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, New Jersey, finally settling in Virginia.
Ginny retired from the Loudoun County office of Mental Health after 25 years of dedicated service. She loved supporting her community. Ginny and Leo were key in the establishment of what was once known as the Loudoun County Hotline, and they were also actively involved at St. David's Episcopal Church in Ashburn. She was also a very active supporter of the B. W. Harris Episcopal School Alumni Association-USA, an organization established to improve education in Liberia, and she was a volunteer docent at the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center, National Air and Space Museum, Smithsonian Institution.
She is survived by her sister Joan and her two sons William and Paul.
