Mrs. Virginia "Ginny" Moore's Obituary
Virginia “Ginny” H. Moore, passed away on March 3, 2012, at home in the care of her loving family.
She was born in Henderson, NC May 15, 1926, to James P. Hicks and Nancy P. Gardner Hicks. She has lived in Leesburg since 1980.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years Alvin Moore, sons Dr. Ronald Moore and his wife, Allee D. Humphrey, James S. Moore and his wife Sue L. Symons, and Bruce P. Moore and his wife Irene B. Moore, five grandchildren, and five great grandchildren, and loyal caregiver Roxanne Warner.
Her life centered on her family. A great joy to her was to welcome and love each new generation. She was a homemaker in the finest sense of the word. She suffered debilitating strokes in 2001, but bore her disability with grace and dignity. She was a loving and compassionate woman who served as a Gray Lady caring for quadriplegics at hospitals, sponsoring and caring for refugees from South Vietnam, and caring for a veteran stroke victim. She loved to travel and was an avid watercolorist, and loved dance in all its forms. She was an unparalleled hostess.
A visitation will be held on Friday evening March 9, 2012 at the Loudoun Funeral Chapel from 6 to 8pm.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 10, 2012 at Leesburg United Methodist Church at 11am, where she was a faithful member.
Interment services will be held privately at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Leesburg United Methodist Church.
