Walter Franklin Green's Obituary
Walter Franklin Green departed this earth on September 16, 2016 at the Gainesville Health & Rehabilitation center in Gainesville, VA
Walter was born on November 24, 1937 to the late Catherine Virginia Robinson and Walter Green both of Leesburg, VA. He attended the Douglas High School in Leesburg, VA. Walter was self-employed for many years as a concrete layer. He was also employed at Xerox in Lansdowne, VA and Seneca Excavating and Landscaping in Sterling, VA.
On August 4th, 1962 he married the late Hilda Marie Day.
“Big Green” and “The Flirt” as he was so affectionately known as truly enjoyed his life with simple pleasures like music, dancing, truck driving, and spending quality time with his family. He was a devoted father and grandfather as well as a loyal friend.
Walter leaves to cherish his memory (1) sister Eleanor Harris of Leesburg, VA, (1) brother Fred D. Green of Fairfax, VA, (5) daughters Jaqueline Day of South Riding, VA, Vanessa Green, Teresa Green, Lorraine Green and Kelly Green all of Leesburg, VA. (1) 1 son Michael Murray of Winchester, VA. (2) Sister in laws Maxine Phillips of Leesburg, VA and Bertha Day of Sterling, VA. (1) Brother in law Leonard Day of Detroit MI. (13) Grandchildren, (15) Great-grandchildren and (1) Great-great grandson. Along with a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and loved ones.
Preceding him in death are his wife Hilda Marie Green, (2) brothers John Green and Ray Green. (1) Brother in law John Harris and a special friend Connie Walker. Friends may call on Monday, September 26, 2016 from 11:00-12:00pm at Loudoun Funeral Chapel 158 Catoctin Circle, SE, Leesburg, VA where a service will begin at 12:00pm. Interment to follow at Mt. Olive Baptist Church Cemetery in Lincoln, VA.
