Wayne D. Reed II's Obituary
Wayne Draper Reed II, 52, of Ashburn, Virginia, passed away on March 23, 2026. Born on August 25, 1973, in Milford, Delaware, Wayne lived a life defined by loyalty, dedication, and an unwavering commitment to his family, friends, and love of his country.
Wayne graduated from Cape Henlopen High School in 1991 and soon after answered the call to serve, enlisting in the United States Navy as a corpsman. Over seven years of honorable service, the military shaped him in ways he carried with him throughout his life.
Professionally, Wayne was a respected Contracts Executive with more than 26 years of experience. He was known for his strong work ethic and commitment to excellence. Yet, despite his professional accomplishments, nothing meant more to Wayne than time spent with his family.
Wayne found his greatest joy in being a husband and father. He was a constant presence on the sidelines, proudly cheering on his sons and building lasting friendships through a shared love of sports and travel. He had a passion for muscle cars—especially his beloved Mach 1 Mustang—and cherished time spent on the water. A devoted fan, Wayne could often be found cheering on his favorite Washington teams: the Capitals, Washington Redskins, Wizards, and Nationals.
Wayne’s devotion to his family was most evident in his 27-year marriage to his beloved wife, Fran (Rigutto). He was a proud and loving father to his two sons, Connor (26) and Bryan (20), In addition to his wife and sons, Wayne is survived by his daughter, Leaha Murray (Clint), and his cherished grandsons, Sean and Sam; his loving parents, Connie and Wayne Reed; his brother, Derek (Amanda); and his in-laws, Silvia and Joe Rigutto.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Robert and Helen Southard, and his paternal grandparents, William and Normalee Reed.
Wayne touched countless lives with his kindness, strength, and unwavering loyalty. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.
Services will be held at Loudoun Funeral Chapel, Leesburg, VA on April 3, 2026, Viewing at 10a.m., Funeral Service at 11a.m., and Military burial at 2p.m., Culpeper National Cemetery. A celebration of life will be held on April 18th. More details to follow.
