Wiley Dickson Sr.'s Obituary
Wiley Dickson departed this life on October 31, 2016, to his eternal home with the Lord. He was born on August 8, 1925, to the late Tony and Mary Dickson, in Longstreet, Louisiana, where he attended school. He was the last sibling of six children.
Wiley was known as Dick to family, friends, and co-workers. He worked for SP Railroad in Texas until he entered the Navy on December 11, 1943. He was honorably discharged on February 19, 1946, as Stewart’s Mate First Class.
Dick was united in marriage to Beulah Graham who proceeded him in death. In that union, they had eight children.
Dick worked for Ace Storage and Interstate Van Lines. Dick had several hobbies that included playing cards, watching TV, helping people, going to his family reunions, and rooting for his favorite team, the Oakland Raiders.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, brothers Clinton and Leon, sisters Clara Rosser, Maybelle Dickson, Ola Williams, and two children Tony and Carolyn.
He leaves to mourn his five sons, Nathaniel, Wiley Jr., Phillip, Cornell, Ralph and one daughter Valerie (Charles) Franklin. He has 10 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild; one daughter-in-law, Paulette Dickson and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. A devoted special friend, Arline Hall and her extended family.
Friends may call on Wednesday, November 9, 2016 from 10-11am at Peace Baptist Church 8221 Wolftrap Road, Dunn Loring, VA were a funeral service will be held at 11:00am. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, November 10, 2016 at 12:00pm at Quantico National Cemetery with military honors.
