Mr. William (Bill) S. Alberts, Electrical Engineer
William S. Alberts, beloved husband of Helen S. Alberts for 65 years, died at Inova Loudoun Hospital on Sunday, March 12, 2006. He is survived by daughters Gail Stone and her husband John, of Clendenin, WV and Janet Lickey of Leesburg; son-in-law: Tommy Lickey of Leesburg; by grandchildren Cheryl Fletcher of Manassas, VA, William (Bill) Wyatt of Oakland, CA, and Frank Stone and Michelle Reyes of Houston, TX; and great 3 grandchildren, Kasey Lickey of Leesburg, Suriya Munawar and Sahil Manawar of Houston, TX.
Born in Cincinnati, OH on October 1, 1915 a son of the late Sydney and Rose Gerst Alberts. He was a graduate of Ohio State. He was a resident of Leesburg for 50 years. He was employed by WLW Radio in Cincinnati and was VP of DECO in Leesburg. He was a member of Northern Virginia Sail and Power Squadron and served in many capacities, including instructor and Commander.
A memorial visitation will be held at the Loudoun Funeral Chapel, 158 Catoctin Circle, SE, Leesburg, on Wed., March 15, 2006 from 5 to 8 pm; where a memorial service will follow on Thursday, March 16, 2006 at 11:00 am, with Rev. Jim Greene officiating.
Interment to be held privately at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Flower Power Fund (For boating safety education) and mailed to Northern Virginia Sail & Power Squadron, c/o Richard J. Durgin, 308 George St. SW, Vienna, VA 221800-6708.
