William "Bill" P. Shellhammer's Obituary
William “Bill” P. Shellhammer, 80, of Purcellville, VA, passed away on Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at his residence.
Born on August 31, 1934 in Apollo, PA he was the son of the late William Park Shellhammer Sr. and the late Genevieve Burkette. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter, Deborah Clark.
Following high school, Bill went on to serve his country for five years in the United States Marine Corps and served in the Korean War. Prior to his retirement from the Loudoun County Sheriff Department he also worked in the Vienna Police Department and the Secret Service.
He is survived by his son, Kurt Shellhammer and his wife, Debbie of Stafford; grandchildren, Jeffrey, Gregory, Lindsey, Kevin and Nathan; and great-grandson, Bruce.
A memorial service was held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 20, 2014 at Loudoun Funeral Chapel with Rev. Roy Trammell officiating.
