William H. Hale Jr's Obituary
William “Bill” Harrison Hale, Jr., passed away on Monday, December 31, 2018, in Leesburg, VA. For most of his life, William worked as a multi-family dwelling maintenance engineer. He was known to all as a kind and gentle soul who found love late in life with Jennifer Rodkey. Jennifer provided William with the opportunity to become a true ‘fur baby daddy’ to five cats from whom he received great comfort and companionship during times of health challenges. He enjoyed watching football and wrestling, playing pool (at which he competed at a national level), archery, fishing, horseshoes, and being an uncle. A quick smile and desire to share what others found interesting were hallmarks of any engagement with William. His silly, infectious, debilitating giggle and big bear hugs will be terribly missed.
William is preceded in death by his mother, Shirley (Martin) Hale. He is survived by his father, William Harrison Hale Sr., his brother Mark Stacey, of Dante, VA; his sister Donna Lester-Carver, his brother-in-law Lester A. Carver, and his nephew Joel Carver, of Remington, VA; his sister Lisa Hale Fettig, his brother-in-law Lester “Butch” Fettig, his nephew Lester “Wyatt” Fettig, and his niece Christine Fettig, of Culpeper, VA; and his girlfriend Jennifer Rodkey, of Leesburg, VA.
Friends and family are invited to attend his memorial service Tuesday January 15, 2019, visitation at 6:00 PM and service at 7:00 PM.
Additional services will be held in Clintwood, VA, on January 26, 2019. Service details may be found at clintwoodfuneralhome.com.
Condolences and flowers may be sent to the family or to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Salvation Army, USS-NCV-National Capital Area Command.
