William O. Harrison's Obituary
Mr. William O. Harrison, 88 of Leesburg, Virginia passed away on Monday, March 31, 2014.
Born Friday, February 12, 1926 in Leesburg, Virginia, he was a son of the late Otho Harrison and the late Mary Cooper Harrison. He was also predeceased by one brother and three sisters.
William grew up working on a farm.
He served his country in the United States Army.
On August 4, 1951, Mr. Harrison married B. Beatrice Farmer Harrison and began a life together.
In the early 70’s Mr. Harrison was a volunteer Fire Fighter with Leesburg Volunteer Fire Department.
He worked many places throughout his life including as a mechanic at a local garage, Hazelton Laboratory, Barber and Ross, and finally ramp services at Dulles International Airport, from which he retired.
He loved working in his yard and tending to his small garden in the summer and doing seek-A-word puzzles.
He leaves his family to cherish his memory including his beloved wife of over 62 years, Beatrice Harrison of Leesburg, his 3 daughters, Carol and Ashby Smith of Kearneysville, WV, Nancy and Tommy Hall of Bumpass, VA and Karen Harrison and Jason Leonard of Harpers Ferry, WV, brother, Charles Harrison of Winchester, VA, sisters, Pauline Burker of Smithsburg, MD and Sarah Carlisle of Winchester, VA; 4 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren.
He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive guests on Friday, April 4, 2014 from 12 noon until the funeral begins.
The funeral services will begin at 1 pm on Friday at Loudoun Funeral Chapel located at 158 Catoctin Circle, SE Leesburg, Virginia 20175.
Interment will follow in Union Cemetery, Leesburg, VA.
