Of Falls Church, VA, died suddenly on December 12, 2013 at the age of 86.
Mr. Henry was preceded in death by the love of his life, wife Joan Ann; twin grandsons Aaron W. and Vincent B. Henry and daughters-in-law Margaret E. Henry and Pamela H. Monson.
He is survived by sons, Patrick W. Henry of Springfield, VA, Michael W. Henry of Needham, MA, Paul V. Henry of Leesburg, VA, Matthew D. Henry of Herndon, VA and Dale M. Henry of Herndon, VA, daughters, Susan M. Henry of Irvine, CA, Mary Joan Parra of Vienna, VA, Christina M. Wray of Charlottesville, VA and April M. Rollins of Falls Church, VA; 16 grandchildren; his brother Eugene W. Henry of South Bend, IN; 6 nieces and nephews and their children.
Born in Chicago, IL on January 29, 1927 to the late Dale M. and Ruth M. Henry, he spent his childhood in Leavenworth, KS and graduated with the Class of ’44 from Washington-Lee HS in Arlington, VA. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy and graduated from Duke University School of Engineering in 1947 and was commissioned an Ensign in the US Navy Civil Engineer Corps. Throughout his career in the Navy, private business and government civil service he was the engineer.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 1st, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 3305 Glen Carlyn Rd., Falls Church, VA followed by interment with Military Honors at 2:00pm at Arlington National Cemetery.
Memorial donations in his name may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project and the United Services Organization.
