WILLIAM THOMAS KENT SR's Obituary
WILLIAM THOMAS KENT, Sr., 84 of Berryville, Virginia, formerly of Lucketts, passed on Wednesday, March 15, 2023.
Born Saturday, February 11, 1939, in Loudoun County, VA; one of nine children, he was a son of the late Earnest and the late Cora Lynn Kent.
He leaves behind a legacy of strength, courage, and resilience. He was a true man's man, with a firm handshake, a great sense of humor, and a no-nonsense attitude that earned him the respect of all who knew him.
William began working at a young age. He was a truck driver until retiring, and then continued working as a school bus driver with Loudoun County Public Schools.
William was a musician. In the 1960's, he was well known for his local band, Billy Kent and the Country Playboys.
He enjoyed listening to music, watching NASCAR, attending and participating in truck shows.
In his free time, William enjoyed restoring his truck "Ole Blue", taking pride in his vehicles, and having "something sweet" after a good meal. A simple man who found joy in life's simple pleasures.
He leaves his family to cherish his memory including his daughter, Betty and Jeff Trump, Billie Jo and Kevin James; his grandchildren, Jeff Trump Jr., Candice and Calvin Koon, Tyler and Kayla James, Dylan and Haley James, Nicole and Barry O'Meara, William Thomas Kent, III, eleven great grandchildren; his brother Roy & Joni Kent, sister-in-law Linda Lickey, and brother-in-law Buddy & Karen Flynn.
William was predeceased by his beloved wife, Audrey V. Kent, and his son William T. Kent, Jr.
He was a true role model, and his memory will be deeply missed by all who knew him. But his legacy will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at Loudoun Funeral Chapel, 158 Catoctin Circle, SE, Leesburg, Virginia 20175.
A Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Thursday, March 23, 2023, at Loudoun Funeral Chapel.
Interment will be at Lakeview Cemetery in Hamilton, VA. The pallbearers will be Bret Flynn, Troy Flynn, Calvin Koon, James Lickey, Justin Edwards, & Nathan James.
