Sally J. Cammon
To all of Bill's family-
I apologize that my "Bill Memory" is a bit late, but nevertheless as vivid now as it was when Bill and I became friends. I was Bill's resident advisor during our year living in the UNM's DeVargas dormitory, 1973-74. Of all my residents that year, Bill certainly did not need my services! He had his head squarely on his shoulders and knew where he was headed. He made my job very easy! So instead we became good friends.
One of the very generous things Bill did was loan me his very fancy camera, so that I could get some great shots of Gordon Lightfoot, when he gave a concert at Popejoy Hall. I have those amazing close-ups of Lightfoot to this day. That was such a kind gesture!
I knew Bob, before I met Bill, because my current husband, Steven M. Glover, Capt. USPHS (RET), was also UNM ROTC. Not that I ever got laugh out of them - just a groan - but whenever they were together on campus, I would ask them, "What do you get when you have two Nicols?" It's just as groan worthy now as it was then.
Bob, since I know you personally, I am so very sorry for the loss of your brother, Bill. And my heart goes out to all that were touched by Bill, as I was.
Sincerely,
Sally J. Cammon - UNM Class of '74
Steven M. Glover - UNM Class of '73
