William B Stevens Sr.'s Obituary
WILLIAM B STEVENS, Sr., 89 of Ashburn, Virginia passed on Thursday, April 2, 2026, in Ashburn, Virginia.
Born Wednesday, September 16, 1936, in Denver, Colorado, he was the son of the late Paul Stevens and the late Ethel Laws Stevens.
William leaves behind many who will forever cherish his memory, including his beloved wife of 34 years, Renee Glattstein Stevens; his sons, William Stevens, Jr. (Melica), Randall Stevens, and Kenneth Stevens; his stepsons, Doug Franz (Dawn) and Dale Franz (predeceased); his stepdaughters, Haley Morse (David) and Felice Schulz (Dave); as well as 12 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
Throughout his life, Bill was a lover of music, putting himself through the University of Colorado as a professional Trombonist as he became the first in his family to finish University. Bill also had a distinguished 40-year career in Engineering at IBM, Westinghouse and MITRE Corporation, helping design the first automated highway system and designing the original Washington DC Metro card reader, among many other successes. Toward the end of his career, he returned to his love of Jazz as he played in and led multiple Jazz ensembles in the DC area. He also cherished traveling the world alongside his beloved Renee, creating memories that will endure.
Funeral arrangements will be handled privately.
