William Joseph Yockers' Obituary
William Joseph Yockers, age 71, of Paeonian Springs, VA, died Monday, December 14, 2009, at Loudoun Hospital / Cornwall Unit in Leesburg, VA.
Born on October 22, 1938 in Leesburg, VA, a son of the late Kenneth A. Yockers and the late Lillie M. Hamilton Yockers.
One of three children, Bill was a life long resident of Loudoun. He graduated from Loudoun County High School and served his country in the US Air Force.
In recent years, Bill enjoyed coaching Babe Ruth Baseball and Loudoun Youth Soccer. He retired in 1998 from NOVEC, formerly Tri-County Electric Cooperative, as a Construction Manager. In Bill’s spare time, he enjoyed most playing golf and riding his Harley-Davidson with his family.
He is survived by his wife: Mary Ann Jewell Yockers, of Paeonian Springs, his son; David Yockers, of Leesburg, VA; his sister: Sandra Church, of Inwood, WV; and brother: Fred Yockers, of North Beach, MD.
Arrangements are being handled by Loudoun Funeral Chapels, 158 Catoctin Cr. SE, Leesburg, VA; where the family will receive friends on Thursday, December 17, 2009 from 7 to 9 pm. Funeral services will follow at the funeral home on Friday, December 18, 2009 at 11:00 am, with Pastor Joseph Adams officiating.
Interment will be at Lakeview Cemetery, Hamilton, VA.
