Willis H. Underwood Jr.'s Obituary
On Saturday, September 1, 2012, Willis (“Bill”) H. Underwood, Jr. died peacefully at the age of 88 in the Johnson Center at Falcons Landing, Potomac Falls, VA. He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Jane Underwood, his brother, Richard Underwood (Janet) of Germantown, Maryland, his three children – Janis Britt (Pat) of San Diego, California, David (Mary) of Alexandria, Virginia and Bill (Marti) of Columbus, Ohio and eight grandchildren. Bill was born in Richmond, Virginia March 21, 1924. He attended Virginia Tech, the University of Virginia, and received a MBA from Harvard Business School in 1947. He served 37 years with the Department of the Navy before retiring in 1980 as Director of Contracts for the Marine Corps. A memorial service will be held at 2pm on Monday, September 10th at the Falcons Landing Chapel, 20522 Falcons Landing Circle, Potomac Falls, Virginia. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Diabetes Association, PO Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312.
