Willo Joan Seeley's Obituary
WILLO JOAN (VANLOAN) SEELEY, 93, of Leesburg, Virginia, passed away Tuesday, January 27, 2026. She was a warm, generous, kind woman who loved friends, travel, music and chatting.
She was born on November 27, 1932, in Franklin, New York, to the late George Washington VanLoan and Lillian Margaret VanLoan. After graduating from Walton Central School in 1950, she was proud to have worked at a doctor’s office in Walton, NY. She married Gordon Seeley on Dec. 23, 1953. They began their married life in Washington State, but ultimately became longtime residents of Kent County, Delaware. Willo worked at Delaware Farm Credit Service in Dover for 24 years, retiring in 1988. During their retirement years, she and Gordon joined Dawson Tours of Camden on many of their trips. Willo meticulously recorded the details and saved photos of all their travels in notebooks. A few years after Gordon passed in 2012, she moved to Leesburg, Virginia in 2018 to live with her only son.
Willo was a faithful member of the Nazarene Church and worked diligently as a servant of the Lord. She read the Bible daily and loved many of the old hymns. She was a weekly volunteer at the food pantry while attending the Milford Church of the Nazarene. She was generous in spirit, always seeking to help anyone in need and to share her blessings with others.
She is survived by her son, Marc K. Seeley, Sr., daughter-in-law, Abby Seeley, two grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. Also surviving is her former daughter-in-law, four step grandchildren, and three step great grandchildren.
She will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, Delaware 19701. A small service that all are welcome to attend will take place there on Thursday, Feb. 19, 2026 at 2:00PM.
