WILMA S. DEENER's Obituary
WILMA S. DEENER, 100 of Lovettsville, Virginia passed on Sunday, March 19, 2023.
A daughter of the late Ralph I. and Lydia C. Shumaker Cooper, Wilma was born on Wednesday, January 31, 1923 in Lovettsville, Virginia. She grew up in Lovettsville and graduated from Lovettsville High School in 1941.
In 1947 she married her late husband Charles Deener and settled in Lovettsville. They had a family and Wilma went to work with Loudoun County Public Schools, as an assistant teacher.
She taught in many schools throughout the county, including Lovettsville, Lincoln, and Emerick Elementary. Before her retirement in 1983, she worked as a secretary at Blue Ridge Middle school.
After her retirement, she continued to be a substitute teacher and enjoyed traveling the world. She also enjoyed reading and spending time with her friends and family.
Wilma was a longtime member of Mount Olivet United Methodist Church.
She leaves her family to cherish her memory including her daughter, BONNIE and KEITH ROSS; her grandson, BRIAN DEENER, her grandson, JASON WALSHROSS, her grandson MATT WILT, and four great grandchildren, COLE WARNACK, ISABELLA WALSHROSS, BROOKE WILT and JACLYN WILT.
In addition to her parents, and her husband, she was predeceased by two of her children, Clark Deener and Brenda Bailey.
A graveside service will begin at 12:00 PM on Sunday, March 26, 2022, at Mount Olivet United Methodist Cemetery, with the Rev. Stephen King officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Lovettsville Fire Rescue Department.
