Winifred K. Holland's Obituary
Winifred K. “Winnie” Holland, 71, of Ashburn, VA passed away on Sunday, February 9, 2014 at her home.
She was born November 19, 1942 in San Bernardino, California, the daughter of the late Robert L. Shay and Ruth T. Schmidt. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald E. Holland and brothers, Timothy L. Shay and Patrick Shay.
A resident of Ashburn, Virginia, she was a former resident of Falls Church, VA and Millboro, VA following a 30 year career and retirement from the Navy Department at the Pentagon. She also served 4 years in the U.S. Navy.
She is survived by her two daughters and sons-in-law, Sandra & Gray Gagnon of Dale City, VA. and Donna & Jeffrey Little of Lansdowne, VA; grandchildren, Karin McKnight, and her husband, Joe of Woodbridge, Lauren, Hayden and Riley Little of Lansdowne; and brother, Michael L. Shay.
Private funeral services have been held.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Ashburn Volunteer Fire & Rescue Department, 20688 Ashburn Road Ashburn, Virginia 20147.
