ZESEN MAO's Obituary
Zesen Mao 81, of Sterling, VA, passed on February 21, 2024, in Leesburg, VA.
Born on September 16, 1942, in China.
Zesen worked as an agricultural equipment engineer in China. In 2015, he and his wife moved to the US to be near family.
Zesen spend most of his life in Hunan, China, and witnessed drastic changes in recent history in China. As the older brother of four siblings, he was the bedrock of the family. At young age of sixteen, he left home to work as a heavy equipment mechanic. Before that he had been helping his mother working in farm field to raise three younger brothers. Zesen only had five years of formal education, but he taught himself everything that made him successful in professional career, as well as in life.
Zesen was an avid hobbiest of electronic design as a young man. He's built numerous radios, black and white TVs, and home speaker systems. He is a lifetime music lover and enjoys both modern and classic music. He was also an award-winning videographer, and video editor, which was the highlight of his retirement life.
Zesen loves freedom and his new life in the US. He made great friends and tireless studied English language. He received his driver's license at age seventy-eight and US citizenship at age eighty-one.
He leaves his family to cherish his memory including his wife Shunchu Wu as well as three children and six grandchildren.
The family will receive friends to celebrate Zesen's life on Thursday, February 29, 2024, from 4:30 to 7:30pm at the Loudoun County Senior Center at Cascades 21060 Whitfield Pl, Sterling, VA 20165.
