Zona Mae Rodgers Schooley's Obituary
Zona Mae Rodgers Wines Schooley, 84, of Purcellville, VA, went home to be with the Lord on Friday October 7th at Winchester Medical Center. She was born in Hillsboro, Virginia. She was preceded in death by her mother, Sarah Elizabeth Rodgers, her father, John H Rodgers, her first husband, Douglas Gordon Wines and her second husband, Clarence Schooley. Surviving are her daughters, Debra Utterback of Round Hill VA and Dena Murray of Purcellville, VA, her two grandchildren, Matthew and Madison Murray of Purcellville, VA and her brother John Rodgers of Purcellville, VA.
Zona was a devoted mother and grandmother (Nana) to her daughters and grandchildren. Nothing made her more happy than to spend time with her family. Her family and friends will always remember her kind, gentleness that always put her family first. She loved playing the drums, and listening to Patsy Cline. She was proud to live as a lifelong citizen of Loudoun County in Hillsboro. She did like to travel, especially to the Beach and Disney World. She also always enjoyed boating and camping on the Chesapeake Bay.
There will be a graveside service on Wednesday, November 2, 2022 at 11 am at the Hillsboro Cemetery in Hillsboro, VA. In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Zona may be made to Round Hill Baptist Church Po Box 126 Round Hill, VA 20142 or Harmony Methodist Church 380 E Colonial Hwy, Hamilton, VA 20158
