Almeta Rose Climax Wise's Obituary
Almeta Rose Climax Wise, 93, of Chantilly, Virginia, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Wednesday, January 21, 2026.
She was born March 3, 1932, in Centerville, Louisiana. She was known for her kind, generous heart and devoted spirit.
She was the daughter of the late Leonard Jr. and Amelia Climax.
She was preceded in death by her husband Lionel Alvin Wise, Sr. in 2019. She was also preceded in death by siblings: Delmus, Leroy, Nena, Lois Mae, and Waldo (who preceded her in death as an infant).
Almeta lived a life of service as a nursing attendant at Iberia General Hospital. She cared for infants within the newborn nursery and for seniors within the geriatric ward. Her hobbies were singing in the choir, going to the movies with her children, sewing, baking deserts for family and friends, nurturing her house plants and shopping.
She attended St. Paul United Methodist Church where she was a member of the choir. She also attended Morning Pilgram Baptist Church where her father-in-law preached. She was a beloved wife, mother, daughter, and grandmother.
She is survived by her children Lionel Alvin Wise, Jr., Linda Wise Ashby, Brenda Faye Wise, Tonya Lynn Wise, daughter-in-law Bunetta Ruffin Wise, son-in-law Anthony Phillip Ashby, Sr., along with many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A public visitation will be held at Loudoun Funeral Chapel on February 4, 2026, from 10 to 11 am, with the funeral service following at the same location at 11 am.
Interment will follow at Lovettsville Union Cemetery in Lovettsville, Virginia.
