Amit K. Patel's Obituary
Amit Kanchan Patel passed away peacefully on October 12, 2023. He was born on August 11, 1970, in Indore, India to Kanchanlal and Sushila Patel. He lived in India for 2 years before emigrating to Uganda in 1972. He returned to India briefly before moving to the United States in November 1974. He moved to various locations including West Virginia, North Carolina and Pennsylvania during his early years.
He married Dipika Patel in November 1998 before moving to Reston, Virginia.
He attended Neshannock High School graduating in 1988 before attending Penn State University graduating in 1992 with a degree in Electrical Engineering. His passion however was in information technology where he excelled in all endeavors he undertook. He worked for AT&T and Oracle Corporation in Reston, Virginia before embarking on a successful consulting career with the Department of Labor.
He was a dedicated husband to Dipika Patel, of nearly 25 years. He is survived by his mother and father, Sushila and Kanchan Patel of New Castle, Pa and brother, Nimesh Patel, sister-in-law, Amita Patel and nephews Saagar and Nikhil Patel of Ivoryton, CT. He is also survived by his father-in-law, Mahendrabhai Patel and mother-in-law, Pratima Patel of Sydney, Australia. Brothers-in-law, Vic Patel of Sydney, Australia and Mayur Patel of Singapore.
Funeral services will be held on October 21, 2023 at Loudoun Funeral Chapel between 9-11:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Elephant Sanctuary in Tennessee.
