My heart goes out to the family of Mrs. Briggs. She was there when I adopted a gorgeous Maine Coon Cat, Wolfie, in 1997 in Leesburg and we met again at the ribbon cutting of the Briggs Animal Adoption Center in West Virginia. I know that Wolfie is wagging his thick grey tail upon meeting Mrs. Briggs again and I would bet there is a special spot waiting for Mrs. Briggs in heaven. She was heaven on earth to animals and to those who loved them.
Thank you Mrs. Briggs for everything.##imported-begin##susan johnson held##imported-end##

John and I are so very grateful to Mrs. Briggs and all her family for the work they've done on behalf of 'all creatures great and small.' I cherish the memory of a conversation we shared several years ago.
Please accept our condolences at this sad time. We shall keep you in our prayers. John and Susanne Moliere##imported-begin##Susanne Moliere##imported-end##
I'm the daughter of Aunt Catherine's neice, Evelyn Katherine (Reynolds) Voss. Growing up, my mother told my sisters and me about Aunt Catherine's work in the rescue of animals. Mom told us that our grandfather George Reynolds, Aunt Catherine's brother, helped build the first structures for the adoption center. Her work had a great influence on me, instilled in me a deep compassion for animals, and inspired me to work with and contribute to animal volunteer organizations. May the Lord bless her and keep her, and may the world always remember the wonderful work she has done for the benefit of animals.

I had the honor of meeting Mrs. Briggs back in the early 1980's when I contacted her regarding three oprhaned kittens I had taken it. She told me how to take care of them until they were able to eat on their own. When it came time to bring them to her at Peace Plantation (then located in Leesburg, VA) she was there to greet them. I know that God has reserved a special place in Heaven for her because of the love and kindness she showed for his creatures. May God be with her family at this difficult time.##imported-begin##Donna Rampey##imported-end##
I will NEVER forget how Mrs. Briggs [and Earl] helped me "see the Light". Because of her [and Earl] I learned how to love and care for God's creatures. She will always be an inspiration to me and my loved ones. We pass on her legacy to all we know.
She surely has a very SPECIAL place in Heaven.
With Sympathy and prayers for Ginger, Earl, Jim and family,

I will never forget a conversation that I had with Mrs Briggs. She described her husband as the closest person to Jesus that she knew. Now I can say the same about her. God Bless You Mrs. Briggs. You have left such a loving impression on every being you've met.##imported-begin##Martha Hunt##imported-end##
