Dear Donny and Christie,
I am deeply sorry to learn of the passing of your Mother, and my dear friend, for more than 38 years. As you know Avis and I met when we were both employed at the Army Times Publishing Company in 1970 and worked together for over 11 years. My last visit with Avis was the weekend before Thanksgiving in 2008 and several phone calls thereafter. We had a great visit, laughing and remembering people and occaasions we shared. She was delightful, generous, funny and full of life and I feel privileged to have maintained a friendship with her for so many years.
