The year I was a junior at LCHS, we noticed there was quite a lot of smiling going on between the guidance office and a certain Math room. By the time we were Seniors, "Miss Joyner" was "Mrs. Scholz." :~) I always appreciated Mrs. Scholz's steady helpfulness, as well as her wry humor. She and my mom (an English teacher at County) worked together for years after I graduated, and they shared a similar commitment to going the extra mile for students. Thinking of Betsy today, I felt her loss not just for Fritz and the family, but for our extended LCHS family, many of whom have expressed their appreciation of her spirit on Facebook. I send prayers of peace to Fritz and the rest of the family. You have lost a sparkling jewel, yes--but she is still shining.--Mary Hunter Leach, LCHS Class of '73
