Betsy J. Scholz's Obituary
Betsy Joyner Scholz passed away on Tuesday, August 13, 2013, at INOVA Loudoun Hospital after an extended illness.
She is survived by her beloved husband of thirty nine years, Fritz J. Scholz III, and by a number of nieces and nephews.
Betsy grew up in Emporia Virginia, graduated from Longwood College, and received a Master’s Degree from William and Mary College. She came to Loudoun County in 1961 where she was employed by Loudoun County Public Schools. During her thirty seven years at Loudoun County High School she served as a history teacher, guidance counselor, and Director of Guidance.
The family will receive friends at Loudoun Funeral Chapel, 158 Catoctin Circle SE, Leesburg, VA from 6-9 PM on Friday, August 16, and a memorial service will be held at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Leesburg, VA on Saturday, August 17 at 11 AM. Burial will be at Capron, VA at a later date.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to either Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 605 W. Market Street, Leesburg, VA 20176 or to Monumental United Methodist Church, 300 Southampton Street, Emporia, VA 23847.
