Catherine R. Johnson's Obituary
Catherine R. Johnson, 78 lifelong of Lovettsville, Virginia passed away on Thursday, May 26, 2011, at home surrounded by loved ones.
She was born on Tuesday, March 21, 1933 in Lovettsville, VA. Catherine was the daughter of the late Ernest Riley and the late Elizabeth Shumaker Riley.
She was a graduate of Lovettsville High School, class of 1951 and Valedictorian of her class.
Mrs. Johnson was employed by the County Of Loudoun for 25 years, working with Social Services as a receptionist. She was a life member of Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Johnson loved her family, nature, bird watching and reading.
She leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 58 years, James Willard Johnson, her daughter, Cindy Cooper of Winchester, VA; five grandchildren, Keri Shannon, Jamie Martin, Derek Cooper, Karli Johnson, and Riley Johnson; and two great grandchildren, Ian and Roxie.
In addition to her parents, Catherine was predeceased by her son James Johnson in 1988.
Friends may call on Tuesday, May 31, 2011 from 6 to 8 pm at the Loudoun Funeral Chapel/Browns 34 East Broad Way, Lovettsville, VA 20180.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at 11 am at the Loudoun Funeral Chapel 158 Catoctin Circle, SE, Leesburg, VA 20175.
Interment will follow in Union Cemetery, Leesburg, VA.
