Ann Harrison
So many memories of Chuck. Thankful to him always for giving my then-boyfriend, Joe Fay, a job after an interview that mainly consisted of chatting about racquetball. Thankful to him for later hiring me, based solely (I have to believe) on the fact that I was a friend of Joe's. Thankful for his consistently warm and fun-loving personality as well as his astuteness, and lovable absent-mindedness at times. Now that I'm 63 I can appreciate more how he'd say "I was talking to that guy about that thing...". I remember him saying often- about work no less- "it should be fun!" And fun it was - we had cribbage at lunch, I got to drive his IROC t top car, and the company started having an annual retreat at the NC beach (even though he grew up going to lakes). He always welcomed our ideas, no matter how "out there" they were. And he seemed to like hiring fresh young minds and then teaching them the business by his example of hard work, wiliness, and talking to the clients. Joe and I are grateful that we were able to visit with him in February, looking at his photo album and talking about old times.
