Charles Manuel Souza's Obituary
Charles Manuel Souza, 63, of Leesburg, Virginia, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 28, 2025.
Charles was born on Saturday, October 6, 1962, to Shirley Souza and the late Manuel Souza. He grew up in Acushnet, Massachusetts, where he developed the strong work ethic and sense of service that would guide his life.
After high school, Charles proudly served his country by joining the United States Army. Following his military service, he earned a degree in civil engineering from the University of Lowell. He began his professional career with the Massachusetts State Highway Department before relocating to Virginia, where he worked as a civil engineer for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
Through his church community, Charles met the love of his life, Nestine Anonas, whom he later married. Their marriage was grounded in faith, devotion, and family.
Charles is survived by his beloved wife, Nestine Souza; his children, Jon and Charlene; and his mother, Shirley Souza. He was preceded in death by his father, Manuel Souza. He is also survived by his three sisters, Mary Martins (Luis), Caroline DaCosta (Joe), and Ramona Melo (Al), in laws: Nestor Anonas, Cristina Anonas, Brother in law: Einstine Anonas as well as many cherished nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
Charles will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his commitment to service, and the quiet strength with which he lived his life.
Visiting hours will be from 4:00pm to 8:00pm on Thursday, January 8, 2026 at Loudoun Funeral Chapel, 158 Catoctin Cir. S.E. Leesburg, VA 20175. A funeral service will be at 10:00am on Friday, January 9, 2026
Charles will be laid to rest at Leesburg Union Cemetery following the funeral service.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Loudoun Baptist Church @ 412 Edwards Ferry Road, Leesburg VA 20176.
