Linda Mckenna
I went to high school with Chris and we were very close friends back then. We often sang together. In particular, I remember singing You've Got A Friend with him in the music club that we were in after school. We also went to see James Taylor at what was known as The Garden State Art Center back then. We went Christmas Caroling door to door with choir members to raise money for our choir trips. We were in the choir together and competed internationally in Montreal, Canada and in Neerpelt, Belgium. We sang in the Cologne Cathedral in Germany. Those trips have been some of the best memories of my life. It was wonderful to share them with Chris. He came to the church to watch me get married to my high school sweetheart back in 1986. I always enjoyed being in his presence back then and believe it was an honor and privilege to have had him as my friend. We shared many deep conversations and our love of music, but especially our sense of humor kept us in stitches, a lot! Our graduating class just had our 40th class reunion a few weeks ago, and I had hoped he was going to be there. God had other plans for him. I pray that his family finds comfort through the many people that loved Chris throughout his life. Like the song says, "Close your eyes and think of me and soon I will be there, to brighten up even your darkest night." I believe that his beautiful and gentle spirit will be. Sending much love to all of The Macaoay's and their extended family and friends. May God hold Chris in the Palm of His Hand. God Bless you all. Love and Peace, Linda Greve McKenna
