Molly and I were so sorry to learn belatedly of Mrs. Weir's passing. She was a lovely lady. Our parents, Virginia and Jeter Grimsley, were very fond of the Weirs when they all volunteered together for Republican campaigns. Our sincerest sympathies to the whole Weir family on their loss. My condolences to the Weir family. Mrs. Weir was a great lady. Greg was one of my best friends growing up in Falls Church in the 1970's. I spend a lot of time in the house on the corner of Van Buren Street and Villa Ridge Road. I remember Mrs. Weir as elegant and unflappable.
The contrast between Mr. and Mrs. Weir was often amusing.
Marine Corp. officer's are not known for being coy or shy about expressing their opinions. When we would talk politics, which we often did, Mr. Weir was a great debater. On other hand, Mrs. Weir would sit until everybody finished talking, she would then softly say ten words, be absolutely right, and end the argument.
She was a great mom. She was devoted to her family. I will miss her.

She was a good friend to us, and we always appreciated her, and you, for accepting our daughter into the Weir family. She will certainly be missed by you, your family, and many friends. George and I will miss seeing Darlene's sweet smile---always tireless in her efforts as a patriotic woman--1st as a Marine wife, 2nd as a Republican. We loved her as an original A-Teamer..and will cherish our memories together on the Young America's Cruise. The tribute film depicts a woman who was devoted to her wonderful husband, Chuck, her dear children and her country. She even became more beautiful as she aged...we were fortunate to know her. We send our sympathy & love to all the family.

Our sincere condolences to Chuck and the family. Chuck and Darlene were our English Oaks neighbors for many years and we recall many happy times with them at their home, at board meetings, and in gatherings of the gourmet club, where Darlene was a stalwart.
