Debra S. McVey Wright's Obituary
Dr. Debra S. McVey Wright, 51, Veterinarian, lost her battle with leukemia on Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore.
Debra was born on December 22, 1957 in Burlington, NC. She was a daughter of the late Norman Edward McVey, and Mrs. Betty Allen McVey of Haw River, NC.
Debra received her DVM degree from The Ohio State University in June of 1982. She practiced at Colonial Animal Hospital in Springfield, VA from 1982 until 1986. In August of 1986 she established CountrySide Animal Clinic in Sterling, VA. She remained there as Founder, Chief of Staff and Veterinarian until stricken with illness in September of 2007, having served pets and their families in the Sterling area for over 20 years.
In addition to her mom, Debra is survived by her loving husband, Kenneth G. Wright of Lovettsville; and two sons, Michael G. and Mark K. Wright both of Lovettsville.
She is also survived by her brother, John E. M cVey of Haw River, NC, and Kimberly McVey Frais of Columbia, SC.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 21, 2009 from 3 to 6 pm, and on Monday, June 22, 2009 from 6 to 9 pm at the Loudoun Funeral Chapel, 158 Catoctin Circle, SE, Leesburg, VA 20175.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 23, 2009 at 2:00 pm at Floris United Methodist Church, 13600 Frying Pan Road, Herndon, VA 20171.
Interment will follow in Mount Olivet United Methodist Church 11783 Mountain Road, Lovettsville, VA 20180.
