Derek Rhys Miller's Obituary
Derek Rhys Miller, 26 of Sterling, Virginia passed away at home on Friday, September 27, 2013.
Derek was born Sunday, April 5, 1987, in Silver Spring, MD. He was a lifelong resident of Northern VA, living in Sterling for the past 18 years. He was a graduate of Potomac Falls High School, class of 2005.
He was a loving and devoted father to his daughter Shia Johnson. He also enjoyed writing fiction, writing music and playing guitar, especially with his friends. Derek was a true Dallas Cowboys fan, and loved his cat, Curly.
In addition to his daughter Shia, Derek is survived by his mom Kimball Miller, his dad Matt and step mom Kathi Miller, and his brothers, Kevin Miller of Woodstock, VA, Jason Miller of Sterling, VA, and Bradley Miller of Sterling.
The family will receive guests on Thursday, October 3, 2013, from 6 to 8 pm at Loudoun Funeral Chapel located at 158 Catoctin Circle, SE Leesburg, Virginia 20175.
The funeral service will be held on Friday, October 4, 2013 at 5 pm at St. David’s Episcopal Church, located at 43600 Russell Branch Parkway, Ashburn, VA 20147.
